Today’s destinations consist of hidden gems you’ve probably never heard of before. In Europe, Lisbon (one of the continent’s most beautiful capitals) is a great option at under £50 return. It has breathtaking viewpoints, historic tram rides, and a delicious cuisine (including the famous pasteis de nata), plus easy access to some incredible Atlantic beaches. Geneva combines the clean city life with stunning natural scenery (Lake Geneva is incredible), and acts as the perfect gateway to the Alps.
For longer trips, Guilin, is the perfect nature-focused retreat. With its karst mountains and rice terraces, it is one of China’s most visually stunning regions; I recommend doing a Li River cruise – I promise it will be unforgettable. Malabo is the perfect remote tropical island destination for those looking to visit somewhere unique, and my favourite out of today’s deals. Formerly a Spanish colony, it combines beautiful architecture with its coastal views and palm trees, and these flights for just over £600 with Lufthansa are a rare chance to visit a truly uncommon destination. To close today’s round off, we have Ürümqi, in western China. One of the most culturally rich regions in the country, it is perfect to explore its Silk Road history, ethnic diversity, and the nearby Tian Shan mountains. Personally, I recommend exploring this region and then hopping to other Silk Road cities in Central Asia. There are direct flights to the main cities in the ‘Stans, and will enhance an already unique trip.
